GBBR: The nation’s first real estate association, founded in 1858
For more than 165 years, the Greater Baltimore Board of REALTORS® has promoted the highest ethical standards and practices in the real estate industry, and we continue to serve as an advocate for the business and professional interests of our members.
WHAT IS A REALTOR®?
A real estate agent is a REALTOR® when they become a member of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). The term REALTOR® is a registered collective membership for use only by NAR members who subscribe to its strict Code of Ethics. All Greater Baltimore Board of REALTORS® members also hold membership with NAR, so therefore are permitted to identify as REALTORS®, adhering to a high standard of practice in real estate.
WHY WORK WITH A REALTOR®?
All real estate licensees are not the same. Only REALTORS® pledge to abide by the National Association of REALTORS® Code of Ethics, establishing accountability for their ethical behavior and business practices. This means when you work with a REALTOR®, you can expect honesty and integrity in all transaction-related matters.
As members of the nation’s largest professional trade organization, and by extension our local GBBR association, REALTORS® advocate for homeownership and private property rights. They are trained practitioners that can provide buyers and sellers with expert knowledge in all areas of real estate. When it’s time to buy or sell your home, it’s time to turn to a professional — a REALTOR®. Find a GBBR Member
